Free users see advertisements provided through Google AdMob. We request non-personalized ads by default, meaning ads are not targeted using your personal data or browsing history. AdMob may still collect standard information like your device type, operating system version, and a resettable advertising ID to serve ads and measure their performance. If you purchase Our Slate Pro, all advertising is removed and no ad-related data is collected.
All payments for Our Slate Pro (monthly subscription or lifetime purchase) are processed by Google Play Billing. We never receive, store, or have access to your payment card details. Google provides us only with confirmation that a purchase was made and its status. See Google's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.

These services have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not share data with any other third parties, and we never sell your data to anyone.
Our Slate is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us at hello@hearthandcode.com and we will delete any associated data.

If you are in the European Union (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights including the right to portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a regulator. Email us to exercise any right and we'll respond within 30 days.
List data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. Crash logs and anonymous analytics are retained for 90 days. Purchase records are retained as long as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
All data transmitted between your device and our services is encrypted in transit using TLS. We follow standard industry practices to protect data at rest. That said, no system is perfectly secure — if a breach ever occurs, we'll notify you promptly.
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new policy.
